Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS)

The project is in receipt of its fourth consecutive term of funding by the UK ESRC(Economic and Social Research Council). It has no commercial links to any software developer or supplier. It aims to offer practical support, training and information in a range of software programs which have been designed to assist qualitative data analysis. The project also provides various platforms for debate concerning the methodological and epistmological issues arising from the use of such packages.

This is an on-line database containing information on social science research funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). It is publicly and freely available and contains over 75,000 records, dating back to the mid-1980s. It is updated daily.

Research Capacity Building Network (RCBN)

The Research Capacity Building Network (RCBN) is part of the Economic and Social Research Council's (ESRC) Teaching and Learning Research Programme (TLRP). It is based at the Cardiff University School of Social Sciences and led by Professor Stephen Gorard.

The purpose of the RCBNis to support the research capacity building activities of the TLRPand, where possible, extend these to the wider educational research community. In particular, the RCBNhas been established to facilitate the sharing of research skills, knowledge and expertise, largely by providing and brokering needs-directed research capacity-building activities on a voluntary and career-development basis.
